MixiVista - Dual monitor software http://www.maxivista.com/

I read about this software today at OS News http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=5629&foo=Simulate%20Dual%20Monitors%20without%20Dual%20Head%2001-12-2004

It simulates dual monitors without a dual head video card. I have been running it for a few hours and it has been running very nicely.

Has anyone had any experience with it? Know of any other software like it? You can get a 30 day eval from the MaxiVista site.

TIA

doesn't XP pro have something like that built into it? where you can switch between different Desktops as if it's one monitor? it might be ATI's Hydravision i'm thinking of but i lost the function either way and dunno what it was.

check out Hydravision.

I am not really sure about XP's capabilities. If I am right, ATI's Hydravision is used inconjunction for their dual head video cards.

Thanks for the reply

that's right. hydravision is to smooth the operation of dual monitors. check out the applications within windows, such as trying to install additional windows programs from your control panel and see what options it gives you. there is definitly a way that the OS will give you the ability to swap desktops, and even task bars, as if you're using multiple monitors. its actually a very smooth, stable feature.
